Neuropsychology is the study of brain-behavior relationships and the understanding of how human behavior, cognition, and emotions relate to normal and abnormal functioning of the central nervous system. A clinical neuropsychologist is a doctoral-level psychologist who has special expertise in the applied science of brain-behavior relationships.
With just a handful of neuropsychologists in Southern Nevada, providers typically have months-long waiting lists and may not accept health insurance. Danielle Bello, Ph.D. joined our organization as our first in-house clinical neuropsychologist. She is able to perform neurocognitive evaluations for our patients in the clinic. Results can help a patient obtain school services and various therapies as well as help parents understand a child’s learning style and strengths/weaknesses. Dr. Bello also assists in assessing the emotional needs of patients and families in order to obtain appropriate services.
