NEURO-ONCOLOGY COMPREHENSIVE CLINIC

Coordinated Care for Complex Neuro-Oncologic Conditions

Expert Specialists. One Team. A Plan Built Around Your Child.

A diagnosis involving the brain or nervous system can feel overwhelming, and the care it requires often spans many specialties. The Neuro-Oncology Multidisciplinary Clinic at Cure 4 The Kids Foundation brings those specialists together so your child’s care stays coordinated, connected, and centered on them.

Our team works collaboratively to care for children with brain and nervous system tumors, tumor predisposition syndromes such as neurofibromatosis and tuberous sclerosis complex, and other complex neuro-oncologic conditions. Through comprehensive evaluations, education, and long-term monitoring, our goal is personalized care that supports both your child’s immediate needs and their long-term health and well-being.

What Is the Neuro-Oncology Multidisciplinary Clinic?

The Neuro-Oncology Multidisciplinary Clinic (NOMC) is a coordinated clinic where children with neuro-oncologic conditions are cared for by an entire team of specialists in a single visit. Because these conditions can affect so many areas of a child’s life, this team-based approach keeps every part of their care working together.

The C4K Neuro-Oncology Multidisciplinary Clinic Cares for Patients With:

These conditions can affect many aspects of a child’s health, including neurologic function, vision, leanring, development, mobility, emotional well-being, and overall quality of life. Because many of them require ongoing monitoring and specialized care, our team works closely with patients and families to provide support throughout every stage of their journey.

What Makes This Clinic Different?

Many of the conditions we treat, including neurofibromatosis and tuberous sclerosis, have a genetic component, which can lead families to expect care from a geneticist or neurologist. These are best managed by a neuro-oncologist. Neurofibromatosis, for example, is a tumor predisposition syndrome, meaning a child’s genetic makeup leads them to develop tumors over time. Managing that well takes a team whose expertise is rooted in oncology, and that is exactly what our clinic provides.

During a visit, families meet with several members of our care team in one coordinated appointment. This may include a pediatric neuro-oncologist, clinical neuropsychologist, genetic counselor, clinical pharmacist, physical therapist, and other members of our team as needed. Together they address the medical, cognitive, emotional, and practical aspects of living with a complex neuro-oncologic condition while building a personalized care plan.

Because our team understands how these conditions behave, your child’s care stays anchored here even when treatment crosses into other specialties. If a condition calls for surgery or care that takes place elsewhere, our neuro-oncology team continues to coordinate and oversee the plan, so nothing falls through the cracks and your family always has a trusted point of contact.

What Should Families Expect During a Visit?

Multidisciplinary clinic visits are longer than a typical follow-up appointment—often around 2 hours—because your child meets with several members of their care team during a single visit. That length is intentional. By bringing specialists together, we can review your child’s needs, discuss recommendations, coordinate care, and develop a personalized plan all in one appointment.

Depending on your child’s diagnosis, our team may review developmental, educational, and cognitive needs, discuss surveillance recommendations, review medications, coordinate specialty referrals, and help your family prepare for future healthcare needs. Any imaging or specialty referrals your child’s diagnosis calls for are arranged before you leave, so the path forward is clear.
