PEDIATRIC GENETICS & DEVELOPMENTAL RESOURCES

Pediatric Genetics & Developmental Resources

If your child has been diagnosed with or is being evaluated for a genetic, developmental, or rare disease condition, finding the right providers and support can feel overwhelming. Early intervention matters. Research consistently shows that the earlier a child begins receiving evaluation and services, the better their long-term outcomes.

This resource directory was compiled by the care team at Cure 4 The Kids Foundation to help Southern Nevada families navigate evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and support services. Whether you’re just beginning this journey or looking for additional specialized care, you’ll find trusted providers and programs below.

Understanding your insurance options can make a significant difference in accessing care for your child. If your child is on Medicaid or Nevada Check Up, it’s important to know about the EPSDT benefit (Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic and Treatment). Under federal law, EPSDT requires coverage of any medically necessary service for children under 21 β€” even services that aren’t part of Nevada’s standard Medicaid plan. If a service your child needs is denied, you have the right to appeal. The C4K care coordination team can help you understand and navigate these options.

Healthy Kids / EPSDT
Nevada Medicaid β€” Children Under 21

πŸ”— dhcfp.nv.gov/Pgms/CPT/EPSDT

EPSDT is a federal Medicaid mandate. For children under 21 on Medicaid or Nevada Check Up, it covers developmental screenings, diagnostic evaluations (including ASD), ABA therapy, speech therapy, OT, PT, behavioral health, genetic testing, and other medically necessary services β€” even if those services are not in the standard state plan. This is an important resource if you’ve been told “Medicaid doesn’t cover that.”
