Family Genetics

Family Genetics at Cure 4 The Kids Foundation

Clarifying Diagnoses. Guiding Treatment. Supporting Families.

Facing the unknown can feel overwhelming, especially when the answers are buried deep within our genes. Cure 4 The Kids Foundation proudly launched the first Family Genetics Program in Nevada, bringing advanced genetic expertise designed to support children and families navigating rare, inherited, or undiagnosed conditions.

We don’t just treat a diagnosis—we care for the whole family, and we look beyond the reason you were referred to us. Every story matters. Every detail counts.

Our team combines deep clinical insights with heartfelt compassion, examining the full picture to uncover not just possibilities, but real answers.

Our Approach to Testing

Led by Dr. Mark Nunes, the first full-time practicing medical and molecular geneticist in Nevada, our program brings critical expertise to a historically underserved area of care. We offer in-depth evaluations and a strong focus on family-centered diagnosis and planning.

Testing is a tool, not the answer itself

We don’t use genetic testing to rule out diagnoses—we use it to rule in meaningful answers. Our providers emphasize the importance of clinical judgement, family history, and phenotype-driven evaluation.

We believe testing should reinforce clinical suspicions, not replace them, ensuring families receive the most accurate and relevant insights. Whenever possible, we encourage trio testing (child + parents) to improve interpretation and uncover clearer, more precise results.
