As Nevada’s only outpatient childhood cancer treatment center, Cure 4 The Kids Foundation has led the way in pediatric oncology care since 2006. We provide expert care to children as well as Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) patients up to 29 years of age. Our team of 12 board-certified providers delivers highly individualized treatment grounded in evidence-based medicine and supported by a dedicated research team. We are proud members of the Children’s Oncology Group, a national consortium advancing pediatric cancer research and care.
We understand that a cancer diagnosis affects far more than the physical body. That’s why our care model includes multidisciplinary services for emotional, developmental, and long-term needs, from diagnosis through survivorship. Our mission is to cure, treat, and heal the whole child while supporting families every step of the way.
Our team of oncologists specializes in providing individualized care to infants, children, pre-teens, and teenagers who have been diagnosed with cancer. Our team evaluates and treats a wide range of cancers, including:
All cancer happens when genes mutate and create abnormal cells. In adults, those mutations happen as part of the aging process and/or exposure to carcinogens like tobacco, ultraviolet light from the sun, or workplace chemicals. That’s not the case with cancer in children and teenagers.
The U.S. National Cancer Institute estimates 8% to 10% of children and teenagers with cancer have inherited genetic disorders that increase their cancer risk. Childhood cancer can also happen during fetal development or early infancy when fast-dividing cells make mistakes that change DNA and cause genetic mutations that lead to cancer.
At Cure 4 The Kids Foundation, we believe every patient deserves the chance for recovery and to receive the latest and most current treatment protocols. Our founders saw first-hand that the outcome of many patients facing a life-threatening health crisis was often determined solely by the amount of their medical insurance coverage or lack thereof.
Participation in the Charity Care Program at Cure 4 The Kids Foundation is based on an individualized determination of financial resources, expenses and other determinations.
