This is a role that requires a multi-disciplinary team approach to solving problems and patient challenges. We frown upon elitists who often use the phrase "that's not my job" or "someone else can do it". SUMMARY: Provides support and assistance under the direction of a licensed teacher to ensure that student educational needs are met. Handle a wide range of support related tasks involving the hands on instruction and tutoring for preschool through high school age patients and young adult family members. This is a non-exempt, hourly position that reports directly to the Education Center Teacher.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Assists teacher with data collection and analysis to support the goals of the classroom setting to include maintaining a roster of students utilizing the education center resources.
  2. Uses existing and emerging technologies as integral tools to support teaching and lessons.
  3. Provides tutoring under the direction of the education center teacher in a variety of subjects from pre-school through high school age participants who are patients or direct family members of patients at C4K.
  4. May assist teacher in contacting the patient/participants school for classroom assignments for patients.
  5. Assists teacher with modifying materials to meet the needs of each individual?s learning style.
  6. Assists teacher in maintaining discipline and encouraging acceptable classroom behavior.
  7. May assist teacher with decorating the education center and assist in compiling a list of classroom supplies to be purchased.
  8. May operate a variety of office equipment.
  9. Other duties as assigned.
