Cure 4 The Kids Foundation, which supports the Children’s Specialty Center of Nevada is always in need of gifts and toys for our patients from birth to age 21. We rely on on these gifts as they offer a needed distraction for a child going through a tough procedure or a way to pass the time during chemo infusion treatments. Toy and gift donations are need throughout the year. Cure 4 The Kids Foundation greatly appreciates your donations, but we ask that you please follow the Consumer Product Safety Commission’s guidelines and suggestions below to ensure our patients’ safety. As always, if you have questions about a toy donation, or would prefer to make a financial donation, please contact Annette Logan at (702) 732-0232 or alogan@cure4thekids.org.
Toy Safety Guidelines:
No used toys, including stuffed animals, of any kind as they may be harmful to our sick children.
All donated toys or items must be in new and original packaging.
Donations should not be gift wrapped, as everything needs to be checked for safety reasons.
Stuffed animals must be in sealed and unopened packages to meet hospital infection control standards.
The filling for stuffed toys must be fabric or solid foam. No shredded foam, small pellets or beans can be used as filler.
The paint used on toy surfaces, as well as other paints, glue, crayons or markers in craft kits must all be non-toxic and contain no lead.
“Humorous” medical toys and games cause fears and misconceptions and are therefore inappropriate.
Please no toys that:

Produce electric sparks or friction
Made of glass or brittle plastic
Contain sharp edges
Contain parts that can pinch fingers or toes or catch hair
Consist of numerous small parts which require close supervision
