I don’t think there is a parent who will ever forget their child’s No More Chemo party. For parents and patients, it is the end of a journey and the beginning of a new one. A life without cancer.

Many years ago, Laura Clauson, an executive assistant for Dr. B, decided the No More Chemo cakes they used to buy to celebrate the big day, weren’t that good. Laura picked up a lot of baking knowledge while owning bakeries in the past. So she had a brilliant idea to take on an incredible volunteer project. She would bake the No More Chemo cakes for our kids! As we’ve grown larger, it’s become a bigger project. The design, theme and fondant can take her between 4 and 8 hours to get just right. That’s dedication.

Now .. hundreds of cakes later, she is finally getting the public recognition we know she deserves. Of course, she’ll tell you that’s not why she does it! She just loves to serve others — and there’s no better way to light up a child’s (or an adult’s) face than with a special cake made just for their day.

Thank you Laura for all you do!

Laura was nominated and ultimately was named the Fox 5 Vegas Shining Star for August 2015!
