As we look ahead to October, we’re getting excited for the big Circus Couture event on October 28, 2012 at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts.  As has been the case in the past, Children’s Specialty Center of Nevada and St. Baldrick’s Foundation are the beneficiaries of this event. In case you didn’t know, Circus Couture is an event built around Art, Fashion and Performance and put on by some very dedicated performers and employees of the circus performances on the Strip.  They give of their time and talent to improve the lives for those families affected by cancer.

The event is on a Sunday night and it’s a wonderful opportunity to check out the Smith Center if you’ve not done so.  There will be a silent auction. There will also be art pieces for sale done by professional artists, as well as companion pieces by some of our patients who worked alongside the artist. You can see some of the kids who took part here. Tickets start at $15.  Here is a link to purchase tickets.   It would be wonderful to sell out the performance.

 

We want to thank all of you who supported our efforts during September, Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.  We partnered with Town Square restaurants and businesses, many of whom didn’t know about Cure 4 The Kids Foundation  and our mission.  In addition, we are expecting donation checks from those businesses who donated a portion of their proceeds to the foundation.

Bowl 4 The Kids was incredible.  The turnout was impressive and special thanks to Linda and Breezy for all they did to plan the event.  Events like that don’t happen without volunteers and friends–so thanks to all of you!  The total isn’t final just yet, but we know it will be in excess of $10,000 raised!!

Our Haircut-a-Thon was also successful.  We truly appreciate all the stylists from Mosaic Salon who give of their time.  Because they volunteer, Cure 4 The Kids Foundation is able to receive all the money from haircuts and manicures, which we truly appreciate and helps increase our Charity Care Plan fund.
