As someone who has spent the past 15 years working with children affected by cancer in Nevada, I know we have made a lot of progress. But, unless you’ve been affected by childhood cancer, you may not know just how far Las Vegas and the State of Nevada have come. I, myself, feel the impulse to buy spiral-bound notebooks that I don’t need just because they are 57 cents each. For many families, this is a time of excitement and anticipation as children gear up for the new school year.
